Vault Smart Locks Pricing & Channel Policy
1. Purpose
This policy sets out Vault’s expectations for how our products are presented and sold through authorised retailers. It aims to:
- Protect Vault’s premium brand positioning.
- Ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Remain fully compliant with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (particularly the rules on resale price maintenance).
2. Recommended Retail Prices (RRP)
- Vault publishes a RRP for each product line.
- The RRP is a non-binding recommendation only.
- Retailers are free to set their own resale prices and discount levels.
3. Wholesale Terms
- Vault sets wholesale prices and may offer volume discounts, rebates, or co-operative marketing funds.
- These wholesale terms apply independently of resale pricing.
4. Brand & Merchandising Standards
Authorised retailers agree to:
- Display Vault products in clean, secure condition.
- Use Vault’s official product images, logos, and specifications in online and in-store marketing.
- Ensure any demonstration or display units are functional and up to date.
- Provide sales staff with product training where offered by Vault.
- Avoid misleading comparisons with non-equivalent products.
5. Marketing & Promotions
- Retailers may participate in Vault-funded promotions (e.g., cashback, bundled offers, temporary price reductions).
- Promotional funding will be administered through agreed co-op marketing or reimbursement arrangements.
- Participation in these promotions is voluntary and will not affect ongoing supply.
6. Online Sales
- Retailers selling Vault products online must:
- Use accurate Vault-approved descriptions and imagery.
- Clearly identify authorised warranty terms.
- Not misrepresent stock levels or delivery timelines.
- Use accurate Vault-approved descriptions and imagery.
7. Supply Conditions
Vault reserves the right to limit supply or remove authorisation if a retailer:
- Fails to meet brand/merchandising standards,
- Misrepresents Vault products,
- Breaches Australian Consumer Law obligations (false claims, misleading conduct, unfair practices).
(Note: Vault does not limit or penalise supply based on a retailer’s chosen resale price.)
8. Agency Arrangements
Where Vault appoints a retailer as an agent (rather than reseller), Vault may set the retail price because the sale is made directly by Vault. Such arrangements will be documented separately in writing.
9. Review & Updates
Vault may update this policy from time to time. Retailers will be notified of changes in writing.
